About the event
We will meet at Playa Pastillo in Isabela at the scheduled time. Please bring water, snacks, comfortable clothes, and water shoes. We will walk through the sand on the beach to reach Cueva Golondrinas. The walk to the cave will take around 30 minutes.
Your tour guide is Silma, a local bilingual certified guide. During the walk, Silma will share the story of Mabodamaca, the local Taino chief. The locals believe that the cliff where Cueva Golondrinas is located resembles his face. You will also learn about how caves are formed and the geological creation of Puerto Rico.
When we reach the cave, you will learn about the Golondrinas (swallows), the birds that nest there. The guide will assist you in taking pictures inside the cave, and a 360-degree photo is also included. A portion of the proceeds from each tour will be donated to a local community organization from Pastillo Beach.
